Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born the 19th of November, 1959. Her work on the screen as well as the stage have garnered praise throughout her long career. Janney has won numerous awards. This includes the Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award along with many others. Additionally, she won seven Primetime Emmy Awards. There were also nominations in two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised in Dayton (Ohio). After graduating from Kenyon College, she received an all-inclusive scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney made her television debut in 1999 playing C. J. Cregg who played the character in NBC's drama series The West Wing (1999 to the year 2006) and won four Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney received an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest actress in a Drama Series, after her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime show Masters of Sex. Janney was nominated for Six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she won twice the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series.
